THE WINNER

CHASE ELLIOTT does the obligatory "burnout" after his NASCAR Cup Victory at Road America today.

Unfortunately, after taking his victory lap with the checkered flag, he decided to do another burnout half way around the track to the delight of the fans there. HOWEVER.....he also burned up a few tires and he couldn't drive back to Victory Lane for the ceremonies. He got a push from a truck  on bare wheels but he couldn't move on his own. So his crew had to scoot down there and install a new tire set so he could get his trophy. It added 20-30 minutes of time and none of the Victory Lane presentations made it on air, as I understand it.

I'm guessing NASCAR will have a new rule next year about multiple burnouts.  It might be workable on an oval.....but not on a long road course.

Best in Large.
