Benched
The weather has been beautiful since the heat wave broke, and Sue and I have been taking long strolls through nearby Lone Fir cemetery. This is one of the benches we love to rest on, near a "memorial" to a number of heinous wars we can't bear to think about. The more you learn about those wars, the more you want to topple the monuments.
We've been listening to Jarem Sawatsky's book called Dancing With Elephants: Mindfulness Training for those Living with Dementia, Chronic Illness, or an Aging Brain. He reminds us everyone who lives long enough will eventually "lose their mind." It helps us avoid panic as we observe some cognitive challenges in ourselves. It's a calming book with some good tips.
