Exploring

In isolation, so no church or lunch with Ermelinda and Cecílio…

But we had a delicious Sunday croissant with marmalade from our oranges, and very sweet melon instead of grapefruit. And we did watch the 8:30 Livestream from our church in England.

And then set off on the kayak again, for a longer trip - paddled south to an island, where we walked up through crunchy vegetation to another abandoned house. Strange to imagine the lives lived there... you could tell it was lovely at one time, with borders on the wall, a bread oven, quite a few rooms, and what an amazing view - you can see Mourão, Luz and Reguengos from up there. There wouldn't have been the Lake, but there would have been a river, which is where we presume their fruit trees would have been, now all under water.

We sat in the shade of the house and read our Bibles, and ate red and yellow plums from Maria's trees. A better view of the house on Mike's Blip, plus, if you click on the map symbol on his Blip, you can see the shape of the island, and its location.

Enjoy this video about beautiful Portugal, and hope to see you here one day soon, in real life!

Gratefuls:
- paddling through sunshiny waters
- making a good lunch from leftover barbecue chicken when we got back about 5 o'clock
- chatting about the wine we drank - Vidigueira's Ato III, A Saudade, with my wine expert brother
