On the whole, it's slightly less fraught to convince the small one that coming out for a bicycle will result in him being back in the house and allowed to operate electronic game devices and then propel the pair of them safely across to the breakwater and back than it is to get them to behave at the allotment for a couple of hours whilst trying to also do useful work. Apart from the occasional horrifying lapse in road-awareness they both did quite well and I finally got to take them out along the breakwater on their own feet rather than in the macpacbackpack.
