A Postcard From Looe

We woke to that heavy, misty rain you get on coastal cliffs (our cottage is about 100 yards from the coastal path) but by the time we’d had a lazy breakfast it had cleared and we enjoyed a walk along the path past Millendreath and Plaidy beaches to Looe.

The path itself was very quiet so it was a bit of a shock that Looe itself was bustling with people. We strolled around the town and harbour, caught the ferry across the river and walked to Hannafore beach and back before getting some takeaway fish and chips to eat on the beach front.

We had to shelter from another downpour before making the walk back. After 7 miles and 20000 steps we were ready to put our feet up back at the cottage.

Clockwise from top left you have the view of the beach as we descended into Looe, the statue of Nelson, the grey seal who made the waters around Looe his home, the ferry across the river and a view from Hannafore (our cottage is just beyond the buildings on top of the most distant cliffs).
