The Pepper Patch

Then and Again

A day for memories. That's me holding my Cub Scout den's flag in our village's parade @ 1956/57. The two sparklers are Miles and Elizabeth two years ago during a holiday visit to Florida.

July 4th, our Independence Day holiday, always gives my sister and me a chuckle remembering back in the day when our mother would stop in the middle of whatever we were doing to proclaim (words to the effect) "July 4th - oh my. Summer's almost over". Not that she was wrong considering New England's northern climate but for two kids who had only just started their break ... (deep sigh).

Another favorite memory of the season is celebrating our 25th anniversary with a trip to England and Wales and all the good wishes we received during the week of the 4th. Thanks.

Take care Blip folks ... and the adventures (and the memories) continue.
