My neighbour told me where he'd seen some poppies so of course I had to go and see them for myself.  They are on the site of the farmhouse and buildings which the RSPB demolished under protest earlier this year.  All that remains now are lots of bricks scattered on the ground and wildflowers have taken up residence.  The poppies were great but starting to go over.  These double ones were my favourite and you just may spot a hoverfly.  Its only the second time I've been there since the buildings were demolished ... seems very strange not to see them.  Got caught in some heavy downpours on the way back to the car much to Misty's dismay, mine too!  Seems strange to see puddles everywhere, its been a while.
