Whooping Crane

OK, apologies up front... Heavily cropped, the subject was too far away, etc... In general, not a good pic. Normally I would pass on something like this, opting for a better pic from the day's shooting. Then why blip you ask?

This is a very rare bird, the whooping crane. In 1941 there were only 21 known to exist in the wild! There are now 3-400 believed to exist.

With that being said, I don't know if I will ever have a better opportunity than this to show him.

I was very excited to capture him, and see two of his buddies. Roughly 1% of the world's population in one morning!!
