CHEEEESE!

Arlo's just over 8 months old and we've had him coming up for 6 months. Today was the first training class he's been to. For whatever reason, training classes have been a bit thin on the ground have been booked up for months, so it's been youtube that has kept us going.

Anyway, it was Rocket Recall today and 2 more sessions to go.His recall when out walks has been getting pretty good, sometimes it seems perfect, until he picks up a scent or sees somethng to chase and he's off in his own world. Anyway, this training should see us piece everything together to give us a chance. In the blip Mrs C is throwing cheese one way while running the other way and then recalling. We've now got 3 weeks to practice what we learned before the next date.

It's a bit weird and maybe it is obvious, but it took me a few months to realise dog training is really human training. It's us that need to learn the skills to do things consistently allowing them to learn what we want - that's my opinion anyway. Still much for us to learn though...
