More rivery bits
Our adventures continue, maps 3 and 4 done today. We are taking it easy, the mad book writing people expect maps 1-7 to be done in one day! But we have too many other things to fit into our day.
I remembered late on its Rosie’s sixth birthday today. She celebrated by rolling in the freshest of fresh cow pats and completely covered herself. We were some way away from the river at that point so we had to endure avoiding going anywhere near her glistening shitty body. Happily the next bit of river had some deeper parts so she could have a good wash. Then some paddling for hannah and me and pushing on until an ice cream van appeared out of nowhere. We both had rum n raisin and Caribbean coconut, was bloody lovely. Rosie had a dog ice cream, it turns out she has no idea how to eat ice cream, she rejected licking it in favour of eating the whole lot down with one bite.
We reached our destination village after only getting stinging nettle stung a small amount, had a pub lunch in the sun, went back to the campsite for a cream tea and rest up. Then our evening of sport began- Grand Prix qualifiers and the football - all v successful. As were the half time cheese and biscuits. Just as well it’s home time tomorrow, there has been a lot of food!
And none of the promised thunderstorms or indeed rain. Stupid weather forecasts, and stupid me for even looking at them.
And some extras where hannah was too interested in her ice cream to smile and Rosie swimming a big lake.
