Weather app was wrong again

According to our weather app, today was supposed to be rain, rain and more rain. Ann wore her anorak when she took me out for my morning walk. She felt a bit stupid because it wasn't raining.

This afternoon I went to the St Erth River for my walk. The plan was to walk along the river to Relubbus and back and that would have been a 2 hour walk for me. Mmmmmmm................. best laid plans and all that. After I'd walked for about 15 mins we were confronted with big metal fences across the rest of the river walk so we couldn't go any further. Grrrr............. that meant my 2 hour walk only lasted half an hour. …........But I did get to do extra swimming. Yay!!!

..............Oh and just a teeny weeny RANT here Our very lovely neighbour was out on his sun terrace and he thinks I am the cutest little collie pup ever asked if we had heard the holiday makers dog (two doors down) barking last week. We did. Apparently it had annoyed a lot of people.

We have a lot of visiting doggies who stay in our place. Most 'holiday letting agencies' have a rule that states doggies are not to be left 'home alone' in holiday properties. We don't have that rule. How on earth can that rule be enforced? And to be totally honest, why would you even bring a dog on holiday and leave it 'home alone', if it wasn't used to going away to strange places and staying 'home alone'?

Ann doesn't like to boast that she is the 'perfect pooch' owner, but in the first year of my life she had a list of things that I had to practise every single day (see here) and staying 'home alone' was one of them.


Sometimes I used to cry when I first went into my crate, but Ann used to stand outside the front door and listen until I stopped crying. Normally it only took me 2/3 minutes to realise that Ann had gone out and I was home alone and I have to say that I was a pretty good pooch. I soon learnt that Ann would come back to me. However for the whole of the first year of my life I had to reinforce what I'd learnt every single day. How all these 'lockdown puppies' have learnt anything, we don't know. Ann's social life was severely curtailed when she first got me. But here we are.......... more than two years on and all my training has definitely paid off. ................Except for my silly puppy jumping up!  I don't think I'm ever going to be able to control my silly puppy jumping up.  I just LOVE everyone so much.  Obviously that is Ann's fault for over socialising me?!!!

Anyway, long story short..................... Neighbour reported that we had one booking where the visitors went out at about 6am nobody knows where and didn't return for hours and poor doggie was left 'home alone' and barked forever and ever. This seriously isn't on??!! (Apart from anything else we have neighbours next door and down below & it's not fair on the dog who was left home alone) If we'd known that, we would have written them a bad review. We have a field right next to our house which is a fabulous place for us doggies to play. Grrrrrrrr.................. No one should be leaving their pooches for hours, even if they do leave our house immaculate. We have told our neighbour to text us immediately if this ever happens again.

…................Seriously????? …...................Why on earth would anyone want to come on holiday with their furry friends, if all they're going to do is leave them 'home alone' all day.
