The Church of St Mary
At the tiny village of Fordham near Downham Market, Norfolk UK. Still on consecrated ground but not in active use. It is under the care of 'Friends of Friendless Churches'. It dates from the 14th century. The small graveyard area has tombstones from the early 1800s and still remarkably legible.
The interior is a bit unkempt, bat droppings and spiders' webs abound.
What caught my eye were the carved ugly heads on the exterior alongside the windows, there to deter any visiting malign spirits I suppose.
