Serendipity. 
After Lou had her bad news at the hospital yesterday she received a text from her band mate telling her they were playing at Cockermouth Live today and asking her to think of them. Lou hasn't been well enough to sing with them ( or see them) for a good while now , but has previously loved their gigs at Cockermouth. 

As luck would have it, we are staying 20 minutes from Cockermouth this week so we turned up unannounced to surprise them. Of course she ended up singing a few songs with them until she was worn out. She was incredible. Her strength is humbling. 
There wasn't a dry eye in the house. 
She's back in bed now ....but oh so happy.
