grading day

Twice a year, this corridor is full of children and their parents, queuing up for karate grading. There is also the odd adult like me! Sensei Jim Martin comes down from Glasgow to grade us - he is a black belt, 7th Dan, and an inspiring teacher. Before the grading, we have a teaching session with him and all our own senseis take part as well.
It's all over now I can finally relax (and have something to eat!) . The red belt will be hung up in the wardrobe and on Wednesday I shall be proudly sporting my new yellow one. Onwards and upwards!
