Good Morning

This spell of calm days continues.  This is just after 9 am and the fog/smog/mist is still covering the flat land but up on the hill we are in sunshine.  The forester invited a couple for morning tea and Marie who already knew them.  He met the husband for the first time on the conservation trip he did in Dusky Sound last month.  They live just south of us and have similar forestry backgrounds but he has been embracing the conservation work longer and is a legend.  Sadly he has a recent diagnosis of Motor Nueron Disease.  Life can be so unfair.  His wife was a teacher and I went to the same teachers college as her but we didn't know each other.  New Zealand is a very small country and it doesn't take long to get a connection to someone.  He is also a keen mountain climber and ten years ago they bought a house in Slovenia as a base when they were in Europe for climbing.  It was a fascinating conversation about how you buy property in a foreign country.
