It's ok to laugh, I'm ok

Happy Flower Friday

I'm so glad mambo helped me remember my balance ball. I began using one in 2006? They are incredible for building core strength. You have to build up to using them all day. It is one of those quirky things you can do that humanizes you to your coworkers. People would come into my office just to sit on my ball.

After the accident of course I did NOT use the ball.

I brought it to my last job but almost as soon as I did we went on lockdown. I think that I didn't blow it up to use at home because I don't have room for it and my desk chair, and I kept thinking we'd be back at work in a few months.

Today I blew it up. My posture improved immediately. My neck felt better immediately. (I'm still going to check out the McKenzie exercises and the standing desk arrives Sunday.)

My resolution to not fall this year is foiled! We could parse semantics and say that I "slipped" the day I went hiking for six hours, but there is no getting around today. One of the times I sat on the ball I went flying backwards. During that moment of flight you can feel really .... free. Because there is NOTHING you can do.

Samuel was a bit concerned but I pet him and eventually I got up, unhurt.

This morning there was a raven on my deck, twice! I wasn't fast enough to get a shot but I might have a chance to make a corvid friend this pandemic after all. There are wonderful stories about crows bringing little trinkets to people who befriend them. There is even a story about a man who used to feed the crows bread and they'd bring him little things. One day they brought him a dollar bill. He decided to splurge on some really nice bread. They immediately put two and two together and started bringing him money!!!

I never managed to teach Samuel to pick pockets.
