Edge of the moors
Little Dog headed towards the moors' gate (where we haven't been for a while) instead of turning left for the farm so I followed in humid pursuit. I found a few of these writhing peacock butterfly masses nearer home and it had me wondering how many would make it to butterflies. They're off to a good start, at least.
After a quick mow of the lawn, I took my bike for a spin to Burnsall. I usually have a plan but today, I let my legs choose en route. They decided it was too hot for hills but actually felt surprisingly on form generally. There was the odd drop of rain on my way home but, no more than two minutes after entering the house, there was one great deluge that I'm glad I hadn't been out in.
