Not What I Thought It Was

When I saw it on the roof of the car it looked like a piece of wood - complete with cut end .... until I went to pick it up and found it was a moth.
I carefully moved it to a safer place and hopefully it was not at the end of its life.

We had to go over and sit at Bags' this morning and wait for the boiler engineer to arrive and hopefully fix the problem of the water not heating fully.
The guys turned up bang on time and serviced the boiler. Air was released from the system and the water tank heated up, so hopefully that is it all sorted.
While we were over there I took some pictures of flowers in the garden,
The pansy didn't turn out quite how I wanted and I think the painter's apprentice needs more practice. I am darned if I can remember what these are called, but I love the un-ironed, crumpled look when they first open. When it comes to the roses round the window, I assume that the centres lose their yellow colour after they have been pollinated.

It has been warm and a bit muggy today - which sent SWMBO off to bed while I was out at the lathe this afternoon and sure enough ... the rain has arrived (of course it would - I watered the bits of the garden that really needed it before lunch) although I don't think it is going to be enough to clear the air.
