Blue skies

Another lovely weather day today, for which Sylvie and I were grateful, until the ghastly fire alarm went off.  It is a truly horrific sound and incredibly loud, so that Sylvie leaped up and raced across the apartment as fast as she could.  I usually hang out in the bathroom when this happens, as the sound is somewhat quieter there, but I couldn't get Sylvie to join me. The alarm kept up for about 10 minutes and finally stopped, but we were both left feeling unsettled.

I had planned to go to QFC today to replace all the produce that went bad in the heatwave, but don't have much energy so I decided to do a pick-up instead.  Unfortunately I though of it too late to get a slot for today, so I'll be going tomorrow between 9 and 10.  That will give me time to unpack the groceries and take a shower before heading off with Lex for my epidural steroid injection.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this will bring some improvement in the numbness in my left leg.
