Lyric Cicada

*Seek* says it's a Lyric Cicada and I think that's probably right. There are cicadas to one degree or another every summer, but I've certainly seen precious few this year. We don't have Brood X - we have to wait until 2030 for our 17 year cicadas, which are Brood II. They were last here en masse in the summer of 2013.

This one was tucked into the corner where a fence rail met a fencepost. I always check anomalous lumps on the theory that they might be tree frogs or some other interesting thing. So today I was rewarded with a cicada! The Husband was amazed that I even saw it.
