NFT used to stand for National Film Theatre
We're all used to having to try to understand intangibles, such as bitcoin, and why does Piers Morgan continue to get employment, but this is a new one:
Non-Fungible Tokens.
An NFT gives you ownership of an item such as a digital artwork, but the artist retains copyright and reproduction rights. And we're not talking small sums - the digital artist Beeple sold one of his works for $69m.
In the case of today's blip, Tim Berners-Lee sold time stamped files of the source code for the world wide web, and an animated video of it being written, all for the modest sum of $5.4m.
