Installing the Lift at our Light Rail Station

This photo is to record the installation of the prefabricated concrete lift housing at the Dulwich Hill Terminus Light Rail Station which is close to our home. It is not the greatest quality picture as there were many constraints but it was a significant event, as I am involved in the project, so I wanted to have a record in my journal.

The crane used to lift the pieces up and over the high voltage railway feeder power lines has a capacity of 130 tonne, quite large for a portable machine.

Many would say that we are overly supplied with public transport options and, compared with other Sydney residents, I partially agree but we are also severely impacted by the overuse of private transport.
