The Matiri

Twitcher J, A and I headed up to Lake Matiri today in preparation for our two day hike in the Sounds next weekend. This was really my first test of a 'long walk' (10km bush walk) and I think I passed :-)
Managed the walk without too much moaning and groaning, including some uphill stretches, some slightly scarier down hill stretches and some boulder jumping and wading through a river.
Got some cute robin shots and a swimming bee, both of which you can see here
This is a shot of what I assume is the Matiri river, taken while I was waiting for T & A to come back from their blackberry picking!
