Outter Court

While riding to work this morning, I noticed a lone basketball backstop. It was in an old park and ride parking lot. It used to belong to DART, the Dallas rapid transit system. Then Texas Department of Transportation used it to hold concrete lane dividers and other big hardware used in road construction. Now it is empty save for the little bus station in the middle of the lot where police officers take breaks.

Swung by the basketball court and saw it had no rim. In fact, the court had four rows of twin concrete lane dividers filled with dirt. It almost looked like a garden. Plants were thriving. But alas, no basketball. No rim to score. No floor to dribble. But it did have a large broken sheet of glass to cut tires of folks not paying attention. I paid attention.
