Emergency flower blip from the garden. Didn't go anywhere today. The local news is that there are now more infections on the island than at any time since the start of the pandemic, but hey, it's on the UK green list, so what could possibly go wrong? Mask wearing is now only mandatory inside shops and establishments, but not outside provided distancing can be maintained. Tourist interpretation: "yay - freedom! No need to wear them anywhere now, as after all they need our money". I feel most sorry for the shop staff who have continually done their job throughout, stacking shelves and coming into close contact with customers while wearing masks and making their hands raw with constantly applying alcohol gel. It's an insult to them to swan around with not the courtesy to offer them some protection. I can't imagine the day when I won't need to wear one, as then I will have to try to not mouth "keep away from me" or more to-the-point expletives ending in "off".
