Not a bad result

I have been catching up with the inevitable jobs that are to do on our return. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked at the lettuces I had planted before leaving. Last autumn I harvested a lot of squashes in the garden on my return to the UK. This time there are lettuces to eat in the beds made in the French courtyard although one or two lettuces look like they are about to go to seed. It is a bit tricky to grow vegetables when they have to look after themselves.
