Mourning Dove

The cooing of these doves takes me straight back to my childhood. I lived in the same house from age 3 until I left for college, and there was always a pair of Mourning Doves nesting in the tree by my bedroom window. It is a very familiar and comforting sound.
Around these parts we have more Eurasian Collared-Doves, so it is special to me to see my childhood friends.
