Goldfinch

Here's a pugnacious goldfinch, giving me the eye! It has taken me some time to find the patience to try and capture one of the greedy little birds that visits the new feeder. Part of the problem has been that they were swinging on the feeder, but I have adjusted the position and they are more settled and have now grown used to me suddenly appearing and zooming in on them and we are now happily inhabiting the same space... well, that is... along with the pigeons who are always ready to hoover up any fallen husk, and the local cats that position themselves around the garden at strategic observation points... sometimes I feel like I'm in the middle of a performance of Peter and the Wolf.
