ENSCO 101

This jack-up rig was originally owned by Ensco, then in 2019, Ensco merged with Rowan to become Valaris and this rig was renamed JU 101.

Bad times followed and in August 2020, Valaris filed for bankruptcy.

After some debt was written off and some assets sold, a financially restructured and slimmed down Valaris rose from the ashes in May 2021.

This jack-up rig was one of the assets sold. Previously mothballed in Dundee, today it was brought round to an anchorage in the Forth.

I am wondering if there is any connection between what is going on here and the Offshore Heavylift Transport (OHT), The Hawk, which has been parked at Burntisland for the last 2 weeks.
