Nest Lake City....
.....a sad day as we bade farewell to our intern from Tokyo, Hiro. He took longer to settle than Nori, but in common with all our interns; Tomo, Masa, Aiko, Nori and Hiro, he became part of our office routine and one of us. I was delighted when he presented me with a pair of very fine chop sticks, truly lovely objects, with my name in Japanese characters on the shaft. Scott in Japanese characters translates as Nest Lake City. I like that.
Later, we celebrated today's closure of Cockenzie Coal Fired Power Station with a session on alternative power sources. Did you know you can power a clock with two potatoes, copper wire and some galvanised nails?
