Wimpole Hall

met up with some friends today at Wimpole Hall. The house is partially open with a few ground floor rooms (including the drawing room with a great ceiling which is my extra) and some in the basement available to see. 
I liked the basement rooms especially the butlers pantry and this luggage room . Unfortunately it was quite dark down there and my shots were handheld and many are blurry!  The owner of the house from the 1930s until her death in the 70s was the daughter of Rudyard Kipling and looking at the luggage labels had done a fair amount of 1st class travel around the world. We also had a wander around the grounds and the walled garden, which is fabulous.
