Why did I come in here?

50 Years

Three life sentences plus five years for bad behaviour.

Today marks 50 years of marriage for the Garden Fairy and her Foolhardy Chap.

When I first saw Elaine she was in a navy blue and white mini-dress, navy blue and white shoes, her hair fell to her shoulders where it met her legs!!!!! I was absolutely hooked, overwhelmed and in a moment of rashness bought her a coca-cola. We were both 17.
We went carol singing with the Youth Club and she wore long boots, and a cloak that reached them, the hood was surrounded with black fur, not only was it a crisp night it was also snowing. Somebody said, “She looks beautiful.” The points count was increasing.

We became engaged while still at school; her parents were delighted, they treated me as their own son. My first deployment was to Malta with 41 Commando. Not a bad honeymoon, all things considered.

Extras.
28th June 1971.
Elaine, Audrey, Emma.
The two waiters, hired for our little occasion. True to form they tried chatting up their Great-Grandmother.
Our humour has helped get us through so much, it never fades.

Back in a day or so.
