Nothing wasted.

In this particular part of the back lawn, the centuries' accumulation of farmyard plough, tack and tractor parts gives way to lumps of reinforced concrete strung together on reinforcing rod.  First used to construct the upgrade to WW2 runways on the airfield, when the runways were broken up for use on a new motorway, some of the hardcore allegedly got diverted to fill in the old farm pond.  Now the concrete lumps will go to fill in dangerously large and deep abandoned rabbit holes around the fields.
