a loosened
Despite having a number of highly important things to do today I managed to fulfil my obligation as agreed earlier in the week to mow what passes for grass in the back garden. Some of it appeared to be a different sort of non-grass plant but was still mowable; a neighbour deemed it to be "grand alder" or something similar and it smelled quite nice as it was chopped and minced. Not too much grass to be cut though it still took two blade changes to complete. As always we shall make empty promises to stay on top of the grass maintenance and firmly expect to not mow it again for another couple of months after which it'll be far too long to bother attempting to rake up when cut. Only four cigarette ends had to be retrieved and placed on the windowsill of the neighbour who dumped them and it only took a minute to heave the large collection of sticks and lumps of brick off my compost heap where another neighbour (the one who shouldn't really be in the garden but had a big bonfire in a bin last September) placed them when he destroyed two bushes to make space for his planned shed.
It was mid-afternoon by the time I got out to have another wander and poke at things. We've just returned from In The Loop which is good though not as good as I was expecting; it was perhaps the behaviour of the audience but it seemed a little too much like a delivery vehicle for big punchliney swearings whereas The Thick of It featured swearing but only incidentally. The slightly-too-late, long and loud laughing also meant that a lot of the dialogue around the punchliney swears was obscured so it's definitely best to catch it at an odd time of day rather than in a sold-out viewing where the staff had to make an announcement to get people to shift up and stop leaving empty buffer seats.
