Norröna Passing Skaw
Another breezy day, but much calmer tonight. Drizzle showers first thing, but cleared. Some sunny spells, short lived, but we've had a sunny evening.
Up early again, and popped into Julie's after breakfast. They headed out, so off we went for walkies to the beach, and a look around too. Said our goodbyes this afternoon, and headed for the ferries. Popped by Madeline's on route home, then to see friend Carol Fullerton. I had to pop down and feed Puss in Boots this evening, and met friend Julie for walkies with the dogs. We also popped by sister Laura's, for a cuppa. Feet up now.
It was good to see the Norröna pass by this morning, on her way to Faroe. She sails between Denmark, Norway, Faroe and Iceland, and used to call into Shetland. The Lerwick harbour rates were too high, and she finally stopped coming here, even though our local council pumped millions into the Smyril Line company. I did travel on the old Norröna, when we headed to Norway in 1990. Steaming at 17 knots, it was a quick snap today, with the most northerly house in the UK. Taken at Skaw, Unst.
