The Cooperative DAIRY FACTORY "The Good Expectation" in Witmarsum was built in 1896 and 1915-1920. The original complex consists of two main parts: the factory building with chimney and the director's house. The complex is located on the Witmarsumervaart. The old factory was built in an artisanal-traditional architectural style, typical of factory construction, to which elements have been added that are typical of the Art Nouveau style.

 The factory closed in 1967 and is now used as a farm equipment company.
