Almost Home
New homes, that is. These dogs had just been flown non-stop from Qatar to Seattle, then driven to my neighbors home, where they had time to relax before delivery to their eager adopters across the border in Vancouver.
You can learn more about the rescue organization that makes this possible here.
Santiago (black) had been in the rescue shelter for a year, and looks well fed and cared for. Larry had not spent much time at the shelter, and had been kept chained to the front of a building for a long time. He was surprisingly trustful, and enjoyed all the attention we gave him, even submitting to belly rubs.
I'm sure both dogs preferred this grassy field to sand or concrete.
Lucky dogs, and lucky owners!
