Baby bouquetin

Five baby bouquetin (cabri) on the Grand Chamossaire this morning. What a privilege to see these babies only a week or two old. I took the first cable car up the mountain and had to run to get onto the ridge before any other walkers. I was rewarded immediately and spent five minutes watching them before their mum led them away to safety (if you can call it that....my heart was beating fast watching them negotiate the rock face, see extras). A couple of older bouquetin were play fighting whilst I watched. The flowers were beautiful and it was difficult to walk without crushing them.

An afternoon of jobs followed by farewell drinks with Alijay and her husband as they move back to the UK very soon. We are sad to see them go.
