Green Pond ...

... Red Eared Slider.

We went out early today (before lunch) to the Plainfield Rail trail for a walk ... trying to beat the heat.  On the way to Plainfield we drove by Green Pond to see if any turtles were basking in the sun ... they were!

This tiny red-eared slider is about the size of an American half dollar!  Thankfully he/she was basking in the sun along side the road ... but still in the pond.
