Me me
Another ridiculously busy day, which saw the simultaneous landing of two significant deals, was punctuated by the sporadic buzz of my phone confirming the delivery of yet another Matt Hancock meme.
It is genuinely impressive how quickly the internet has responded with a volley of images which quite rightly skewer the hypocritical, cheating “guy at the stag party who no one invited” (can’t remember who said this, but it is spot on). As Alex Brooker said on The Last Leg last night, Hancock has moved onto the “what does he have to do to get fired” plane.
I collected the children after work and the volley of questions and requests soon kicked in - I’m sure this is a recent thing - but having deflected accordingly and confirmed that one more request for screen time would result in the spectacular defenestration of said screens, they soon settled back in, started playing nicely and in Matty’s case, using their imagination.
In the knowledge that we were seeing Simmo and Izzy tomorrow, I also knew that I would have to get some cookies baked. Simmo can turn quite aggressive* in the absence of cookies and I don’t want her daughter to see her like that……
Finally fell asleep watching REM at Glastonbury on BBC2 to the strains of ‘Everybody Hurts’, which is not nearly as miserable as it sounds.
Thank Jebus, it is the weekend.
*this is a lie.
