Day Trip

Given our enforced proximity to London a friend had recommended the Ansel Adams exhibition that is currently showing at the National Maritime Museum at Greenwich so i headed off on the train this morning.

I enjoyed the exhibition enormously - i've always loved AA's work and in my non-digital darkroom days avidly read his books The Negative and The Print. I vow from here on in to aspire to perfection...

Thought a black and white shot would be appropriate today, definitely not up to AA's standards though - it was taken with my Blackberry, emailed to myself and processed in the Photoshop app on my iPad - i should be reunited with my laptop and camera gear tomorrow.

After Greenwich i headed into central London and took this shot in Trafalgar Square before visiting the Man Ray exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery which i also enjoyed.

Full of photographic inspiration now but knackered! So many people, so much traffic... I fail to understand how people can do this city stuff every day. Less than a week and i'll be back in the peace and quiet of the Outer Hebrides.
