Dad's Tulips

My father spent his last weeks in hospital. As Spring approached he missed seeing the bulbs coming up and all the other signs of Spring. I took these artificial tulips to his hospital room to try and cheer him up. He was very poorly. After he died seven years ago today I kept the little pot. I bring it out at this time each year and put it on my window sill to remind me of him.

(The Ukrainian embroidery is a decorative Rushnik. It is used in many traditions in the Ukraine. My cousin embroidered this for me. I've included it as Dad was Ukrainian until he became a citizen of the UK.)
