Farewell
Today we had a great morning. My niece arranged a boat trip - a boat trip with a difference. We went out on the accessible power boat run by the charitable arm of Mylor Sailing Club. This meant that her disabled son could have an exciting trip on board a fast boat called the wheely boat, which gives access to wheelchair users. Our captain, Vicky, took us from Mylor on a tour of Falmouth harbour and out on to Carrick Roads, stopping close to Pendennis Point where we scatttered some ashes - my niece Alison’s father Dennis, who was also my brother. It was delayed from last year due to COVID. Dennis lived in Mylor for a few years and the appropriately named Pendennis Point was a favourite place, a place he stood to watch one of the people he admired greatly, Ellen MacArthur, returning from her non stop voyage around the world. We also threw in some wild flowers from the Cornish hedgerows. It was a lovely morning, an exciting trip, and an uplifting experience. Not sad in any way. Afterwards we went to the Pandora Inn - two thatched pubs in two days- see extras. The main photo shows St Anthony’s Head which is opposite Pendennis Point
