Another garden wilderness blip.  This is in a section at the front of the house.  There used to be a large tree there which was starting to lean so had it removed a few years ago and since then lots of wildflowers have moved in.  I had planned to put in a shrub but couldn't dig a hole as there's membrane and shingle so just gave up.  I always though membrane was a weed suppressant!  Have also got membrane  at the side of the house and weeds and wildflowers are present there too and yet I've lost count of how many shrubs and perennials I've lost in my border which has plenty of topsoil.  Anyhow we've had rain today.  First proper rain for quite a while so can't complain ... the garden will appreciate it.
