Van Gogh Alive

I met my friend today and we travelled into Birmingham by train - all new experiences in these times. We had a lovely lunch and then headed for the Hippodrome for the immersive experience “Van Gogh Alive” - it’s hard to explain but put simply his career was shown via huge screens which changed constantly so wherever you looked there were paintings or parts of paintings - some so close you could almost touch the oil blobs. It was so interesting showing how where he painted, and his mental health at the time , influenced his use of colour and style. I took a few photos and videos to show how it worked to the OH but mostly we just sat there and marvelled. There was also a beautiful classical soundtrack to accompany Vincent’s life story .
