A March Day in June
Global warming there may be, but it is hard to appreciate any rise in temperature up here in the Northlands when an early morning cycle run, for at least half the journey, was in the face of a stiff north wind and a ‘feel like’ 6° temperature.
It is actually midsummer, although one could be forgiven for thinking it to be March.
I made it home before a morning of drizzle, but with the help of a visit to a hitherto ignored café and a browse in a deserted library, the morning passed very pleasantly.
Eventually with the return of the sun and the temperature hovering at the ‘feels like 8°’ I went for a blowy circular walk before sitting in the sheltered lee of the garden wall to read the paper.
On the way back I blipped the very attractive Leslie’s Close, again!
Time now for that glass of restorative red wine.
