The fortress of Ayr

Gave up trying too be a domestic goddess today!
It is such a beautiful day I decided to try and capture the old walls and fortress. The skyline is spoiled with modern day trappings such as multi- story flats and lamp posts. The sun was in the wrong position so the remaining walls wee very dark and damp looking.
Recycle bins were sited nearby as well. Nobody seems to think of the historic surroundings when such things are put in situ.
The fortress dates back to Oliver Cromwell .
