Canada Goose
A small group of Canada Geese have been resident on or near our local loch this winter. The Canada Goose is a large goose, 105cm long, and as the name suggests is from N. America, but is now thoroughly established as a resident breeding bird in the UK. They seem to co-exist well with our resident swans and with all the coots and gulls that congregate at the loch. Nice in large.
We have a beautiful sunny day today, and we went for a walk around the loch. We didn't realise how cold it was, with a Baltic wind coming off the loch, so it was a fast walk, then home for coffee and cake.
