River walk

Another river walk to start the day.  Spotted these two chaps lying under the trees.  Weather was much warmer and the sun was shining.

OH was on MIL duty (shopping, hospital appointment, and taking some of her stuff to the dump).  He was not happy when he got back and I made him a cup of tea while he ranted.  She is not a difficult person but they have never been particularly close.  He moved away from home when he was 18 and there is not much of a ‘connection’.  I feel the same way and many of our conversations contain the word ‘guilt’.  We do things because we feel we should, not because we want to.  I don’t think I have ever really had a sensible conversation with her in 45 years; it’s either about people I don’t know (cousins of next door neighbours), or about the price of everything…

But she is old and frail and getting worse and needs our help, so after calming OH down we spent the afternoon in the garden and cutting grass therapy helped.  We bought her a wheelchair recently (from eBay - great bargain following fellow blippers recommendation) so will take her out somewhere over the weekend perhaps?

OH suggested opening a bottle of Prosecco that was in the fridge and we had a lovely relaxing glass or two in the garden before cooking the scallops we bought yesterday.
