Mr Allotment

Went to the allotment this morning early. Wanted to tidy up some parts of my plot, I had a heap of excess soil.

Mr Allotment and I decided on some guerrilla allotmenteering. We went to a common area that is used for dumping and cleared it with the mattock and took all the stones and weeds out. Then we got the old cold frames and sunk them in and filled with earth. Planted out redcurrants, blackcurrants and gooseberries with one crab apple. What a difference it made the area looks so much better. Even old cabbage and tattie types thought it looked much better, now that is a compliment.

Anyway this is Mr Allotment, Stuart. He is just so helpful and cares so much about the state of the allotments. He helps people who are struggling and is always keen to get things tidied up and looking good. Every allotment should have one.

The rest of the day just pottering around and enjoying the sun on the east coast.
